BrokeSRT4 will become famous soon enough
Its about to get serious!!!!!

Well I have spent to long watching everyone else go run at the track while my car sits around collecting dust.
I tore it apart in October of 08 for no reason besides wanting bigger and better. The fully built motor with the 35r would be more then enough for most people, but not when one of your best friends is Kevin Warren. Him and the PFI boys are constantly giving me shit about my slow car.

I had some things I had to get taken care of that were taking up a good amount of money "Ex-wife as well as Ex-girlfriend". Not at the same time of course. Its true even when you are divorced they will figure out a way to screw you. It didn't help that work got so slow for such a long time either but its seems to be picking up pretty heavily so that's a good thing.

So now that I have my money situations squared away I can start to play again. For another 6 months anyway, got a baby on the way so that will probably take away a buck or two when it comes to car money. Good thing I have an AMAZING girlfriend now that is more then happy to see me get my car finished up and back on the road/track.

Slowly but surely I have been stockpiling parts to get my baby finished. This is what I have sitting around so far:

Arias Stock bore 8.8.1 compression pistons.

Pistons will be matched to a custom set of Grp aluminum rods that will be matched to this bad boy.
PFI custom 2.6l stroker crank.

Gates kevlar timing belt

New "old style" prologger

Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors

Full blown dual pump system with splash guard and baffle. Still waiting on the top piece and pumps.

-10 fuel feed line with inline filter to go along with my Aem fuel pressure reg and -6 return line

NX carbon nitrous noids and stainless line. Bottle will be painted E-blue to match the car.

Msd coil boots for custom wires to use with my custom coil on plug system from PFI.

Aem map sensor

Aem ems to run all the goodies

PFI modified stock intake mani that was cut in half to extremely port and also weld up a curve for the last runner to make for smoother airflow. Im not finished polishing it yet. I probably wont use this but may have to for a bit if I dont get my custom mani in time.

PFI modified Agp race fmic. End tanks have been re welded to keep from blowing apart like most Agp's. Also moved the coldside outlet up and made it 3in with vband. Tial 50 bov flange welded onto endtank.

PFi custom aluminum ic piping. 3in coldside and 2.5in hotside.

Ams tubular manifold modified by PFI to add external wastegate flange.

PFI custom o2 housing and 4in downpipe.

PFI modified turbine housing for vband. Not finished polishing this either.

GT37R turbo with .82 hotside ported out to .9x.

Energy suspension front endlinks to go with my already installed Progress sways.

I don't have pic of the next things but they are in the works:
PFI/Profab bedplate strap kit with ARP studs
PFI/Profab 3/4 shift fork
PFI/Profab hydrolic throw out bearing
Shanfab custom short throw shifter
Treated trans gears and Input shaft for now installed by Shanfab but soon to be PFI Billet shaft and syncro box straight cut gearset which will be installed by Shanfab. "dogboxes will be available also"

Shanfab 4in aluminum exhaust

Head is being shipped out on Feb 2nd to have a CRAZY port job done. 3mm over exhaust valves and 1.25 mm over intake valves, new oversized seats, dual springs and titanium retainers.

Once the head is done it will be flow tested and we will be having a custom set of cams made to work perfectly with the flow of the head. Very big with tons of lift, somewhere around 500ish.
There is probably more that I am forgetting but you get the idea.

Still have a lot of work to do and a lot of money to spend but if everything goes as planned I should have it on the street by the time Bandi opens.

Plan is to make a few passes around here before getting kicked off the track for not having a cage. Then it will go to PFI for the custom 10pt cage with chute. I am leaving the back seats in the car and it will also have power steering and a/c so it will be as close to street car as you can make a race car. Yes i will be driving it around town often in the summer.

Hoping for 9s with this turbo but if I cant do it ill be changing it out before June. Have to go to SRT Drag Nationals in Ohio and rep hard for PFI and the COSRTOC!!!!

Huge thanks goes out to Kevin Warren for all the help with everything. If it wasn't for his help I wouldn't be nearly this close to being done and I probably would have never gone this crazy with the build. The boys at PFI, Shanfab, and Profab are doing big things for us locally. We are very lucky to have them around.

There are also a few looks areas that I have addressed while the car has been down. I had my dash, headliner, and rear dash wrapped in suede. Added a pair of Sparco seats. Painted the inside of my headlights black. Picked up a set of Hid heads and fogs from John and got a set of CDB fog surrounds. I still need to have a few dings and dents fixed "thanks to the ex-girlfriends 8 year old son and his bike" before i'm happy with it again.

I don't know what it is about blue cars with carbon fiber and black wheels that I like because I don't usually like carbon fiber very much. Got a sweet Seibon carbon fiber hood, engine cover, radiator shroud, Seibon front and rear lips, B pillars, eyelids and some sweet black wheels with 5zigen blue lug nuts for the girls Rx-8. Also have a full revolver body kit for it just not 100% sure we are gonna use it or not. Don't know if it will fit with the Carbon lips? Hopefully by the end of the year it will be at PFI getting its custom GT3071R turbo kit made with the small Tial hosing to make it fit better. 400hp with a 9k redline should be plenty of fun.

Why are you not going to bore the block? Who is decking the head/block for you? Are you having the rotating assembly balanced with all those goodies?

The reason I'm doin stock bore is I figure why not get the most use of the block as possible. When I blow it up ill bore it to .20 the .30 then finish it off at .40. Doing .20 over off the bat isn't gonna change much anyway so why not run some stock bore.

The machine work will be done at bowers racing engines. Ill probably do a mild hone and then do a line hone for the strap kit. Ill probably have everything balanced also.

There is still some work to do but it won't be to bad. As long as my stuff gets done and shipped back to me in a timely manner. The cranks is done to very similar specs as the dcr stroker crank.

I'm curious to see how high ill be able to rev the aluminum rod stroker. And I'm hardly waiting to test out the new input shaft and then the syncro box. Gotta break a stock and treated input shaft first to test the strenght of them.

Yeah it seems like a long time for sure. Its my own fault though I guess. If I would stop buying new toys like. The truck and toys for the truck I could have spent more on my car.

yea when i want to go all out i was considering a lighter rod, but i like the crower rods. im going with arias pistons too. i just need to talk to kevin a bit more when it comes time for a full build. a stroker crank would be a nice addition. then i might have to choose a different rod. I know FWD motion has light weight rods and i believe they are a bit longer than stock. well when you have yours up and running i would like to see how it performs high reving up to 9K and see how the aluminum rods hold up.

is the input shaft a PFI treated input? cryo or wet-magna fluxed? i understood kevin has a new type of dog box gears that can take a whoopin. but is the syncro box still using syncros with looser tolerances for mashing the gears in? or is it like the Rage dog box with 5th and reverse stock with syncro's in it just 1-4 has the dog teeth gear set?

They are doing both treated shaft and full billet shafts. I'm not 100% sure what type of treatment. Ill have Kevin chime in with more details. The syncro box will be the same straightcut gearset but with syncro engagement for street use. If I'm wrong I'm sure Kev will correct me.

Kevin ran the grp rods in his motor all season long and was revving up around 10-10.5k with them. I know it will be less with the stoker but I don't see why 9k isn't possible.

We have a few different options. We have a heat treated gearset that uses stock gears with our custom treating. I think they will hold 600hp. I am having some billet input shafts made that will be similar to the Rage input shaft with a longer first gear and pilot bearing which will be between $1000-$1200. We are also working on a full dogbox transmission with 1-4 straight cut dogbox engagement gears, straight cut ring gear and final drive. The synchronized box will be a semi helical or straight cut gear with upgraded syncro's which should hold 700-750hp. All will be heat treated with a wpc treatment as an option. Synchronized box will also have a new final drive. We are about 30 days out from our first prototype of the input shaft, then the rest should follow within 30 days after that. Then transmissions are next.
